Exclamation Re: Fatty Liver

I was diagnosed about 7 years ago with Fatty liver at the age of 28 since then I have had my gallbladder removed and a complete histo. with cysts and endo.as well as adomyosis. My current DR.is not treating my liver and just ignores it because I have not had high blood work except for my triglyceride's.Despite a horrible pain just under my right rib cage and she sayes IBS but according to her those are not symptom's of fatty liver.I need a good doctor that has delt with this before.I am so afraid because when I was first diagnosed my doctor said that in 10 years it could turn to criosis. My time is running short to get this under control.I am going to try a liver cleans since I feel like I am on my own trying to deal with this problem. My origional doctor has since left the country.Thanks.I would be thankful for any advice.

well I have done some reading and I don't think I should wait 6 months

I also have had pain for over 8 years (I have Fibro also) so Dr said most of my pain is my Fibro---UGH!!! and I have bloating in the upper area also, that I feel is fluid build up. I bought some otc water pills and I think they are helping some, but layxis (sp) would work a lot better.

The pain has been almost unbearable this week and two nights I have thought of going to ER

I don't drink---maybe once or so a year---I am on several med's but not near as many as I was in 05.

it just concerns me that the dr's don't seem concerned

Re: Fatty Liver

Hi Donna,

Thanks for responding.
I am so sorry about the diabetes issue now. Is there any connection with that and the Fatty Liver? Im Pre-Diabetic. I am on Metformin for it. My father was dx with Diabetes and he has a Fatty Liver and he isnt even overweight!

I too try to watch what I eat. But I still have to loose weight and its not easy. The excersize part is so difficult as you know with the Fibro.

It seems from what my regular doc thinks the reason I got real sick was because of Food Posioning. Seems right since I was fine until a few hours after eating a hamburger. I will be staying away from that for quite some time. I have been flaring since..ugh
I am seeing a Gastro doc on the 25th and see what he says.

I hope you start doing better and get answers too !!

Huggs

Re: Fatty Liver

djl
I am really pre-diabetic I guess--I am not on meds for it yet. I start a class tomorrow night on the diet part and go from there

but liver dr does feel they go hand in hand and i have a friend here who's son is the same.

I hope with diet exercise and loosing the 15 lbs or so that will take care of it---not sure I trust my local dr's on this and if the pain starts up or if loosing the weight does not help then it is off to dallas FTworth to seek more answeres

What are your numbers on the diabeties to be p put on meds

take care hugs

Re: Fatty Liver

My numbers were 119 on a fast. This was a couple years ago and they put me on 500-mg of Metformin. Now recently when I had another test I was 119 AGAIN ON medication also on a fast. Was not happy about that.

What are your numbers?
