Hi Lady,
According to the "normal" ranges as indicated on my print out of blood work, your ALK looks good (normals is 25-115). Your AST also isn't bad (normal is 10-37). I don't know about the bili, as mine says it's bili direct and total, no listing for indirect. Your ALT is elevated (normal is 5-37).
Before my diagnosis of NASH, when the docs were ruling stuff out, they had me go off my birth control and advil/tylenol to see if that's what was causing the enzyme increase. My numbers did decrease after I went off it, but were still over double what they should be. So I figure that the birth control probably just aggravated the situation, who knows. So I no longer take birth control (my hepatologist thought that was best until we get the situation "under control"). I also take as little advil as possible, only when I really need it. I was given Vioxx (prescription) to take during my birth control/advil abstinence in case I had a headache. Apparently it's pretty easy on the liver, at least easier than even advil. I take that but will need to get a refill soon.
I was told by my nutritionist not to do Atkins as ketosis is not good for the liver. That was her opinion.
Hope this helps,
