High Liver Readings - Slowly Dropping - Liver & Pancreas Disorders Message Board

I was just wondering what could cause a very high liver reading from blood tests that is slowly dropping. I've had four liver tests done, the first being insanly high and latest one being about four points above what is considered normal. The doctor isn't really telling me anything other than taking too much asprin or drinking too much could cause it. Well, I don't take pills and don't drink at all. I feel completly healthy besides some trouble digesting certain foods lately, such as dairy or oily foods. I personally don't think I have anything to worry about, then again, I'm the type that would try to walk off a broken leg. Any thoughts? Thanks a bunch!

It could be gallblader problems. which enzymes are elevated? just AST and ALT or also bili and Alk Phos?

the elevated enzymes are saying the something was probably going on with either the gallblader or liver. The good news is they are coming back down.

how high were they to begin with? In the 1000's?

get tested for Celiacs disease and ask to go to a GI specialist. Also get some blood work for Anemia and check your thyroid. A very helpful book is by Dr. Cabot...The liver cleansing diet...lots of info.
