Fatty Liver A Disease?

If one has a fatty liver, is it then a fact that they have Liver Disease? I have a fatty liver. No doctor every called it a diseased liver. Had my gallbladder removed, lost weight. Alkaline Phosphaste level remains high. Probably due to fatty liver, or so the doctor says. Drugs to lower cholesterol say that they shouldn't be taken by people with liver disease. So if you have a fatty liver, should you take any of the drugs to lower cholesterol? The class of fenofibrates (Tricor) when taken did raise liver levels. Statins give me pain in the stomach. I think the pain in the mid section is telling me not to take any cholesterol lowering drugs. Any comments out there?
