A Pancreatic cyst, plus cysts on my liver and kidney were found incidentally when I had a CT scan for something else. Since then I have had an EUS. At the time of the CT and after the EUS the radiologist reading the CT called it probably pseudocyst on the pancreas and probable benign cysts on liver and kidney and the Gastro Dr. called what he saw during the EUS, probable serous cyst. He also discovered that the liver cyst was not on the liver but on a part of the pancreas that he could not get to for FNA. He called it a IPMN cyst and he is not sure if it is main branch or side branch. An MRI I have scheduled hopefully will shed more light. He did do a FNA on the small (1.2cm) cyst and the CEA came back as over 3000. He called me and told me he was very shocked it was so high. Does this mean it is definitely cancer?
Needless to say I am shocked. I didn't expect all this. I have made an appointment at a large hospital in Boston for more investigation. I am a 58 yo woman in good health. Don't smoke or drink. How could this be happening to me?
