30 Yr old with Hepatitis B and Liver Cirrhosis
Hi everyone. I just received some scary news from my Specialist and wanted to see if you guys were familiar with my situation.
I was born with Hepatitis B but had a healthy childhood (Played Football at College level, etc). From my teenage year to this past summer, I consumed a lot of alcohol which was not a good idea for someone with Hepatitis. (I have since then quite drinking all together)
I've been seeing my specialist the past 3 years and have been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. (My liver got quite a bit worse in the past 2 years). I am medicated on Viread and have been eating healthier.
I had an ultrasound in October that looked fine (minus the cirrhosis) but my most recent ultrasound (Feb) showed a 1.2 cm nodule.
My doctor informed me that I need to go in for an emergency MRI but Canada system is superslow and my appt for MRI is booked a month away from now.
First question is,
If it IS cancer, is a 1.2cm nodule small enough that it can be taken out?
Secondly, Can I afford to wait another month for an MRI? They do have private MRI in Canada but it costs around $1000 whereas if I wait a month, its free.
