Hi, I am a 23 year old F, I went to the Dr and complained of right side pain and pressure. I had an ultrasound done and was told that I have a mass on my liver. Later I was given a Cat scan as well as a MRI. I have been referred to a liver surgeon and was referred to him last week. I was told from him, as well as my Gastro Dr. that this was FNH. I am confused why I am in pain? It is approximately 3CMS in size. I have frequent dull pain when sitting, as well as a pressure that seems to worsen throughout the day. Some days are worse then others. I am going back in a week, and if it doesn't feel any better (even just a little) he wants to look at surgery. Does anyone else have pain from FNH? I feel like they look at me like i'm dumb when I say that I am in pain.
I am 29 and FNH. I was diagnoised two years ago. The dr's give me the same look when I tell I have pressure and pain. It just started recently. My mass is 7 by 5 by 5. I am very fustratec with all of this. Good luck to you!

It is frustrating! I hope you find relief soon! I recently started seeing a new oncologist who isn't 100% it is FNH now, I will be having liver resection on the 20th. Hopefully someone out there can help you, this is such a frustrating process! Good luck!
I have now had a ultrasound, CT scan and MRI and no change in the size over 6 months so that is good. 9x7x8 cms. I only feel if it if I try and bend over too far which I can't do now anyhow as I ave just had back surgery for a herniated disc that was squashing my spinal cord. Talk about everything at once. I also have a cyst on the other end of my liver so I have to see and gastroendocronologist on the 14th and see what he thinks. The last specialist laughed it off but this one heard about it while i was in for the back surgery so he was referred by my back specialist and following it up.
The new dr said my FNH is the largest he has ever seen and is worried it may cause compression of the biliary tract and some other things but I'll leave him to know what he is talking about. I just know I can't bend over like I used to coz it gets stuck under my rib cage.

What a pain! I am so sorry that you are going through so much, when it rains it pours, right? Mine is small, so I worry that since the diagnosis isn't 100% that it's something different. I don't understand how something so small could be causing me constant pain and pressure? The dr said it just effects everyone differently though, and i'm going to go with that. I hope that when your back starts feeling better, the pain in your side subsides. Glad to hear it isn't growing!! I'll keep you in my thoughts.
You will find to that most Drs will say that you were born with it or the gene for it. I showed him ct scans from 1999 when my GP back then thought my pain was gall stone and all it showed was a perfect liver and gall bladder and no reason for the pain so it proved to him that it can 'just' develop of it's own accord at a later date and not something you are born with.
Thnking of you both too and hoping none of us has any reason fo concerns

I am a 29 female with what they think is focal nodular hyperplasia. I am waiting on a MRI to confirm that it is not a hepatic adenoma.
I have pain from mine; that is what made the doctor get it checked out. At the same time, though, I also found out I had a fatty liver. The Doctor seems to think the pain is from the fatty liver and not the mass.
