Dead animal smell in stool

Hello,

I am a 39 year old female with recto-vaginal Endometreoisis and symptoms of Silent GERD. My diet is oats, berries, eggs, chicken breast and salmon baked with veggies, occassional pizza. I am prone to upper abdomen bloating, stomach pains and Gastroenteritis.

Generally my stool smells of a dead animal, the color is normal. I usually have to force stool out. Some days it descends without much force, some days I really have to push. A lot of times, the front 1 inch part of the stool often gets completely dried up, stone hard and has hard edges that gives me cuts on it's way out. The consistency after this part is soft but bound. But it smells clearly of a dead animal.

I have tried to consult with various doctors but they put all it on diet. I have been noticing this smell since more than a year now.

Could anyone tell me what is going on?

Will be so very grateful! After many doctors dismissing my concerns and giving simplistic reasons I have very little faith left.

Thanks

Re: Dead animal smell in stool

Have you had your stool examined? sometimes the smell can be attributed to a bacterial overgrowth, are you by chance lactose intolerant? have you been tested for it? sometimes fecal fat can cause horrible smelling stool. get a doctor to do a full examination of stool and go from there,

Hope this helps a little

Thank you Cheffyd82. I will try to take this route. Perhaps will put this on another board. Thank you so much for replying.
