We have been married 25 years this year and is the fatjer of my tjree children . He is bloated and in pain and always tired but cant sleep at night. Why then with all tjese symptoms do they say he doesnt qualify for a liver . The dr. Has said his liver is decompensated if tjat makes a difference and takes Lactolose 30ml 3 times a day and xifaxan antibiotic . Please help me understand as he thinks because they say you cant have a liver that he isnt really sick and tells everyone in family he is better.
It's the MELD score that determines transplant. Has he had that done yet ? All those symptoms are due to Cirrhosis. My husband is on Lactulose, Lasix, and he takes Milk Thistle. He's lost alot of weight over the last yr since his HEP C diagnosis. I would seek a Liver Specialist in your area and talk to him openly about his disease and what steps you need to take .........We've been married 26 yrs, and it's not just him that suffers. Emotionally be prepared for a rollercoaster ride......Sending hugs.....
