Re: bile reflux

I have had two ERCPs. One the doctor went in and tested me for sphincter of oddi dysfunction. Since the doctor had to go into my pancreatic duct, I was one of the low percentages of people who got acute pancreatitis and ended up in the hospital for a week. The other ERCP the doctor didn't have to go into the pancretic duct, so no risk of pancreatitis. That one was just like having an endoscopy. I was sedated and when I woke up I wasn't in any pain, just very drowsy for a day. So, it depends on what the doctor does.
