| How serious is this result?
Hi there,
I recently received this result from my doctor:
- Elevated liver enzymes
- ALT number at 190 and AST number at 67
- Ultrasound shows presence of mobile sludge balls in gallbladder
- Diffuse fatty infiltration
I am 24 yrs, 5'7", weighing at 163 lbs. I drink sparingly and the last time I was drunk was years ago. I guess I am a little fat...but never considered myself at health risk. There hasn't been any changes in my diet. I am in no pain whatsoever. Physically, I feel nothing out of the ordinary or see any symptoms that would point to certain disease from what I've searched online.
In the result, my doctor said I should schedule an appointment with a liver specialist, but I am out of the country for some months so I can't exactly give him a call to set up an appointment. Now is this something I could wait til I come back before I check in with the specialist? Or should I really see a specialist now from where I'm at (From US visiting Vietnam)?
I apologize ahead of time if I lack clarity on some parts. I am trying to contact my doctor right now, but until I can talk to him, I thought I should ask around a bit. Any information would help.
