| Sharing my findings
I'm a 47 yr. old male who was diagnosed with Hemochromatosis in Sept. I've had an abdominal ultrasound, and a liver biopsy. According to my GI I have an enlarged & fatty liver aka NASH. We don't know how much of the enlargement is due to the hemochromatosis, but we should find out as the months go by.
I was a party person, but have cut down in the recent years and have not had any alcohol since Aug. and due to the hemo I haven't had any red meat since mid Sept. since then I have lost about 20lbs. just with the change in diet. I am hoping to lose another 60 this year.
This past week I've been experiencing an ache in my upper right quadrant just about where your ribs curve down towards your back and have an appointment with my GI on Wed. I have had slight nausea, & vomited a mouthful of soup, but besides that no other symptoms of anything. My appetite is fine and I haven't had any other problems keeping food down. Previous imaging (ultrasound, CT) has shown no problems with my gall bladder or any of my insides besides my Nash. My liver enzymes and iron were high which led to the ultimate diagnoses of hemochromatosis.
I'll update on Wed. when/if anything is found out by my GI as to why I'm experiencing the ache.
