It hurts to breathe!

Yesterday I woke up having sharp pains in the right side of my chest (lung area). As the day went on I began to get a fever and felt very very weak. I slept the day away. At night it seemed to ease up. Now this morning I woke up to the pain again and its also in my middle back. If I hiccup, sneeze or take a deep breath it hurts on the right side of my chest and back. If I move the wrong way it hurts too. Does this sound like anything someone has had? I want to wait a little longer to go to the doctor because it may go away.

Re: It hurts to breathe!

Chest pain should definitely be evaluated by a doctor. He'll listen to your chest, and if he thinks it's necessary, he'll order a chest x-ray for you. What you have sounds similar to pneumonia or pleurisy...

Hi butterfly,

I always find your posts helpful. This post wasn't to me but you have me curious....probably because I am tall and well I use to be thin

I've attributed my own ahces and pains to my other crap which is likely the cause but you have piques my curiousity.

Many smiles

Re: It hurts to breathe!

Hi there lynnie..the reason I was asking because shortness of breath or chest pain in a young, tall, thin male can often indicate a spontaneous pneumothorax--something that they are particularly sensitive to.
