very sharp pain in right lung.

Hi everyone i come here today because im very worried.
I havnt cared about my health at all in the last phew years and i have smoked a hell of alot, today i started getting really bad pains in my right lung just below my rib cage .
I get this very very sharp pain right at the end of my breath when i breathe in (its fine when i breath out) and also when i move in certain places it gets very sharp and sometimes momentarly paralises my whole body and i cant move at all.
I couldnt even sleep properly today because the pain was so bad
I know that i need to get to the doctors but im very scared of them and its very hard to actually get me there.
Anyone have any similar pains to this and can tell me the problem?

Re: very sharp pain in right lung.

maybe you're starting to get a pneumotorax (air around your lung making it painful to breathe.

Re: very sharp pain in right lung.

Do a search on symptoms of pluerisy and see if it describes what you are going through. I had it about 20 yrs ago and it is pretty uncomfortable. It is an inflammation of the membrane around the lungs.

I agree with Jilly. I understand that going to the Doctor is not exactly a fun thing to do, but it would be worth it ......just to relieve your worries. Pneumothorax....pluersy....are big words, and you can ask the Doctor about them. The main concern you must have is ...feeling better and soon. If you dont know who to go see, your local hospital probably has a "nurse help" line that can help you decide which doctor is right for you. Some even assist in making appointments. I encourage you to do this today.
