bronchitis with no cough?

hi i have posted about this ongoing problem i am having,
congestion in throat, cant get it out
clicking feeling of phlegm in throat when i take a deep cough
sinus drainage all the time
and wheezing noise sometimes from right lung
doc says it is allergies and asthma and mild bronchitis i am freaking out because everytime i take a deep cough i have a feeling of something at the botton of my throat between my breast, that something is trying to come up but i cant cough it out!!!
i have been on zpac and amoxicillian she called me in levaquin tonight, the funny thing is i make myself cough, its not that i cant stop coughing, and i dont know if this is consistent with bronchitis?
thanks alot

Re: bronchitis with no cough?

I know how you feel. I was diagnosed with double pneumonia and I have no cough. I also have to make myself cough and feel like something stuck in my throat. I have postnasal drip and short of breath till I get to hurting when I inhale, but no cough. I am on leviquin. I am going to a different doctor today, because I dont know whats going on. I have missed a lot of work feeling sick and weak.

Re: bronchitis with no cough?

I have the same exact thing...same symptoms and same diagnosis.-and it's been happening since August! I just finished a Zpac and I'm on Advair for the shortness of breath. I finally dercided to go back to the gym and now my lungs hurt from inhaling deeply during the workout. It's very frustrating...
How long has this been going on?

Re: bronchitis with no cough?

Well I went to the new doc today, and ended up having my files from the other doctor transferred to him . I am now his patient. He said the other doctor didnt give me the right diagnosis. I had pnuemonia in only one lung, and mainly hurting from pleurisy. He said pleurisy is painful. It affects the lining of the lung. My old doctor also had me taking wrong medicine. I couldnt believe all this. I am glad to get the right help.

Re: bronchitis with no cough?

Thanks for replying, do you guys have that feeling of something clicking wehn you cough, like deep in your throat? i am going for a chest xray, but from what i hear that isnt gonna help me at all?? I talked to a lung line nurse today who said the clicking can be from trauma from "making myyself cough" because i feel like phlegm is there all the time.....i hope this resolves soon, i am really scared....

It's hard not to be scared until you know what is going on. I was. It's the common fear of the unknown, but please try not to be too scared. Most of the time it's not as bad as we imagined. Have the x-ray ,and find out what is going on. Our throat does funny things. I have that constant dripping in my throat and always feel like mucus stays in the certain place down low in my throat .Kind of like where my esophagus is. But I think its the result of ongoing allergies.
