My husband takes foradil and spiriva in the morning and foradil at night. Is it okay for him to take his albuterol inhaler also in the morning and at night? I think this may help him to breathe better all day.
Hello I don't know about the one med but my pulmonary doctor told me to use the albuterol and wait a few minutes and then use the Spiriva. He said it helps the Spiriva work better. I take my once a day Q-Var in the morning and the once a day Spiriva in the evening. Hopes this helps.
Hi, I don't know about that one med either, but even though I have been DX with COPD, the Dr tried changing my Advair Inhaher to Spiriva, and oh my! That stuff I tried for five weeks and instead of breathing better I used the Albuterol more and more. Went back to my Advair and never have to use the Albuterol at all.
Isn't it amazing how each of us has a different reaction to the same thing?! I have COPD (emphysema) and the Advair did nothing. Once I was put on the Spiriva it was only 2 weeks and I felt almost normal. It really is a matter of trial and what works for you. I use the albeuterol now before the Spiriva and that's the only time. You should tell your doctor if you don't think his course of therapy is helping. Most of them listen and try to work with you.
