Cough sometimes dry, sometimes with phlegm, breathing makes me cough! Help!
Ok so i caught a cold recently from my mom. Typical cold symptoms followed (fatigue, stuffy nose/runny nose, itchy nose, mild headaches, aches, chills, but no cough).
I started taking just rgular cold medicine like the Tylenol Cold/Flu Night/Day pills. They seemed to be working.
The cold last about a week then started to get better. However, out of nowhere I have developed a pretty bad cough, here are my symptoms:
-Hard to breath sometimes cause deep breathing causes coughing
-Barky like cough, that SOMETIMES produced phlegm (sometimes clear, sometimes greenish, and sometimes there is only a little bit and sometimes lots), However, sometimes I cannot cough up anything, its just dry cough.
-Chest feels heavy like there is pressure or something, and coughing only relieves it for like 20 secs, then the pressure is back.
-The stuffy nose has returned, though not nearly as bad as before.
-I am having trouble sleeping because cough is so bad.
-I have been taking TONS of cough syrup with expectorant, guaifenesin and dextromethorphan hydrobromide. I also have been taking Buckleys as a last resort (cause it tastes AWFUL and nearly makes me vomit). I also have occasionally taken Neo Citran and Advil Cold and Sinus.
Anyways nothing is working, I am only getting very very temporary relief. I have had the cough for a good 1 to 1 1/2 weeks now and its is really bugging me. Tonight it seems to be the worst it has been, and as you can see I am still up (4:22 AM).
What is wrong? Is it bronchitus? Should I go to the doctors, I might go to the walk-in clinic tomorrow.
Anyways any advice is welcomed. Thanks
I should add that i am NOT a cigarette smoker (however I did smoke for like 2-3 years but quit a long time ago), but I do smoke marijuana only recreationally and haven't touched any of it in over 2 1/2 to 3 weeks and even then its like 1-2 times a month IF that!
