HI, newbie here
42 yr old female, cardiac nurse to boot (angioplasty)
with a horrendous family history of cardiac problems
personally have some benign cardiac stuff:
functional murmur
right bundle branch block on ecg
bigeminal pvcs( extrea beat after every normal beat) with exercise ( stress test proven), (drink decaf btw)
hypertension treated with meds
so now this issue has surfaced
last echo had an RVSP of 47 ( previous one normal).with tricuspid regurg. NO RVH. mild pulmonary hypertension
to say the least I am freaked, Can you believe it, I work with 17 cardiologists!!
My family doc says, "No Big Deal, will repeat the echo in 6 months". Well, unless she wants me to have a stroke from stress in that time, I need answers now. SOOOOOOOOO I went to my friendly peer grp of cardiologists. Do you think ALL the benign stuff added together is pointing to something else?
One Doc was relunctant to go above my family doc , so that was no good, so I went to another who told me not to worry but I needed some f/u . He is going to repeat the echo at his office next week and get me in to see a colleague of his ( respirologist) asap. I am assuming the tests ordered will be CXR, PFT, anything else ??
The only contact I have had with PH, was a female patient I had 15 yrs ago, who rejected her double lung transplant and died, so I need some OTHER feel good stories related to PH.
Anyways thanks in advance
great board btw
Oh yeah, I get SOB walking briskly from parking lot to hospital where I work ( feel pvc's too), and walking from
1st floor to 2nd floor, sometimes I need to stop to get my breath. Is this normal or not? I am about 30 lbs over weight and dont smoke
