 Phrenic nerve disorder
After bipass surgery, my left diaphram was left paralized; probably due to surgical error. Seven months later, I developed serious complications due to pneumococcal pneumonia and septic infection - shoulder, knee and sternum were all infected. I was intubated for two weeks. Four weeks later, while recovering at home, my right diaphram suddenly became paralyzed as well. I am currently using an apnea breathing aparatus, however sustaining sleep for more than two two hours is difficult. My doctors are considering a diaphramatic pacemaker. I would appreciate any information, websites, articles... concerning this problem. Thank you in advance.
