Anyone have this chest irritation?

Anyone have a condition where they feel sort of a irritation in the upper chest area? Sometimes I notice it more after eating. When I breathe out, at the end of the breath I often cough. The feeling is NOT one of burning, but more of an irritation or even slightly "itchy" feeling like someone with bronchitis might experience in their chest area (except without the wheezing and fatigue). There is no mucus with the coughs.

I thought it might be GERD-related, but an endoscopy showed nothing, and really it feels more like something going in my lungs. It's been going on for several months.

Anyone know what I'm talking about and care to tell me what was diagnosed in your case? My dr. hasn't come to a conclusion about it.

Re: Anyone have this chest irritation?

Hey Mcphee. I too have this "itchy" feeling in my chest. If I cough (dry cough), my chest irritates and the urge to cough increases. This is on the left side of my chest. After this irritation, the coughing increases with increased mucus secretions in my throat. Note that this occurs in the evening mostly after I take maybe tea. Then it dissapears on its own. I want to have a chest x-ray.

Any advise?
