Lung nodule found to be pressing against heart

Yesterday, my brother went to the ER with bad stomach pains. After a CT scan, they told him that he had a bleeding ulcer but that was not their main concern... they found a nodule on his lung that was pressing against his heart. He was advised to get a PET scan and it is scheduled for 4/25. No other information from him and understandably he is highly emotional and not giving (or possibly gotten) any other information. His fiance said they (Dr.) suspects cancer by the way the conversation was going. Anyone have a similar experience they would please share and the outcome? Thank you!
