My mother is 60 years old and was diagnosed with COPD 10 years ago, it has been a roller coaster with her health situation, being in and out of the hospital, she is on oxygen 24 hours a day, takes multiple medications, and can barely cook and clean for herself. My mother lives 3,000 miles away from me, and a few days ago she went into cardiac arrest. They were able to rescusitate her and get her heart and blood pressure back to normal, but she is currently on a ventillator. But I just received a call from the doctor that she is not responding. He now wants a family meeting by phone, since we live far away, so I am so scared of what I may learn on this call in a few hours. I have compiled a list of questions to ask, as I am not sure how long her brain went without oxygen when the paramedics arrived to rescusitate her. I was told a stranger administerd CPR until they arrived, but I am unsure how long he did this for. Please pray for my mother. I will keep you updated, I have already purchased a flight and will be flying out tomorrow.
Edited to add, that during the rescusitation efforts I was told they punctured my mom's lungs, and broke her ribs. So even if she were to recover from this ordeal, it will not be an easy ride for her.

My thoughts and my prayers are with you and your Mom, my mother was on ventilator after lung ca, and she did pass in the hospital. In a way I'm glad as she didn't need to go to a nursing home. This is a very hard time for you, sending lots of love your way.
