ribs ache, whole ribcage, muscles spasms

I have been suffering with a sore ribcage for almost a year

It seems to come and go but is getting more and more frequent and lasting for long periods of time, weeks

The main symptoms include a constant tight feeling, although it does feel kind of muscular, like the muscles in my chest and back are somehow damaged, I get a shortness of breath with it, sometimes if its bad I feel dizzy

I am also getting facial numbness/aching around my nose, sometimes chin, and sides of face

Also last saturday I got a bad pressure headache, like something was squeezing my head

Also the skin in my chest and back is very tingly and feels cold

I get muscles spasms in chest and back, strange sensations like someone is poking me or pushing a hand against me.

For example, yesterday my ribs were tight all day, I seem to be able to control it when seated, but as soon as I start moving around it seems to make it worse, and start getting muscle spasms. I occasionally felt dizzy when moving around.

This morning I woke up and my whole ribcage ached, got up and when moving around was getting muscles spasms, and for a few seconds it felt really bad and I felt dizzy, then my upper body went hot
Then while making breakfast felt pressure in back of neck and base of skull
Then very strange sensations in my back, between shoulder blades but quite high up just below neck it felt like something was pushing on me, them all around my right shoulder blade the muscles felt very sore

Strangely I seem to be able to exercise without feeling breathless, sometimes I will go for a 40 min brisk walk, and on sunday I went for a bike ride for an hour. Sometimes when walking I will feel off balance, but not breathless

I had a chest x ray about a month ago. I have had lots of cardio tests about 3 or 4 years ago and a recent ecg and bloods

someone help me before I lose my mind

Re: ribs ache, whole ribcage, muscles spasms

So today I wake up and my whole rib cage is tight and sore again

Ribs aching all day, strange pressure headaches at the back of my head, skin tingling

Feeling unsteady on my feet

Then when walking around town suddenly felt really unwell, breathless, throat and chest tightened, my body went numb and felt really unsteady on feet. Eventually calmed down enough to sit down outside a cafe but felt cold and panicky

Started walking a little again and felt unsteady again and weak

Drove home and feel weak and wobbly and my ribs are still sore

Can anyone help?

This is still going on

I didn't sleep very well last night, and was feeling dizzy this morning due to lack of sleep

At lunch time, I was just sat at the computer and suddenly got pressure in my solar plexus area along with feeling very hot and dizzy, lasted about a minute

Hi...first questions...have you made any changes to your diet such as exclusions, additions, etc?

Are you on any supplements or medications? if so, what?

Has your doctor done blood testing?
Has your doctor sent you for allergy testing?

It does sound as though you also have anxiety related physiological responses, which can cycle so quickly...it's difficult to even realise what's going on. But that doesn't mean that initially you're not having something that's physical that might start the cycle.

Have you tried massage to see if that can help ease some of the muscle spasms?

Have you considered to see a specialist that can help with relaxation responses during some of those episodes.

I can fully relate to how you're feeling, for me I have many health issues and muscle-related pains/responses including asthma. But I also have anxiety, and the full-blown cycle is nothing short of feeling on the road to insanity.

Therapy definitely helped me as well as cognitive behavioural therapy. Anxiety attacks only last a certain period of time. Waiting them out and knowing it will pass can help the physiological responses. It's the consistent thoughts and fear of the physiological discomfort that exacerbates the cycle.

The point is to recognise what's happening and to learn the tools in order to interrupt the cycle and hopefully ease the symptoms.
It's a difficult process, but in theory very simple.

Does any of this seem that it could be happening to you?

I have similar problems but mine are constant, I have presure and numbness through my whole face and head. Can't sleep at nite and I have a balance problem and hissing in my ears. And I seem like I can't focus on what I'm doing really strange and causing aot of anxiety I seem to tense up my whole chest and core neck gets stiff and feel like my shoulders and arms are heavy.

Can cipro show up in a blood test after 2 years of taking it? I don't know if I did but I had a cyst on my neck and the doc treated me with an antibiotic
Don't remember what thinking it could have been mrsa

Have you looked up fluoroquinolone toxicity yet ?
Reading all your posts in other boards, you still seem to be at a loss as to what to do, in my opinion a lot of your symptoms ARE STRONGLY suggestive of being " floxed " although the symptoms that are not typical are generally found in anxiety , this would be only natural in the situation you find yourself.
The ciprofloxacin may be not the whole answer but I personally would be VERY surprised if it were NOT part of the problem
Although obviously I would still suggest you keep your mind open to other causes and continue to work with your Drs,
Please consider looking into this ,your Drs are not finding anything,If you have had every test available at least a lot of the 'nasties' will have been ruled out

Please let me know how you get on.
But nobody has whole body burning pain I can't even hardly walk let alone lay in bed difficulty eating very hard to control movements I have to be taken to drs in the back of a van laying on a mattress and still in pain . I can't believe nobody has all these problems nobody has total body nerve pain!

Re: ribs ache, whole ribcage, muscles spasms

This has just happened to me again

Feeling like I can't breathe when walking

It feels like the air is being squeezed out of me almost, I also get dizzy with it

The strange thing is I was out on my mountain bike yesterday for an hour and breathing felt ok

I have had it happen to me 4 or 5 times now, feels like my lungs are being squeezed and its always when walking, usually somewhere flat

Re: ribs ache, whole ribcage, muscles spasms

Hi, Have you had any MRI's of your brain or spine? I have a lot of the same symptoms as you and I have several bulging disc and tensed muscles. I lift a heavy toddler all day and this all flared up after doing the elliptical machine. Maybe its your muscles that are tight pressing on your nerves? You say you ride your bike a lot. I imagine your hunched over right? I have read a lot about poor posture causing problems.
