6 weeks ago my Dad was taken to hospital to be checked out after having a coughing fit on the day of my Mum's funeral. Had chest x ray and blood tests etc. Doctor told us all was OK. 2 weeks later GP rang and said very small abnormality seen on xray. 2 weeks later he went to see chest specialist who has ordered a CT scan 2 weeks later.
I am so worried that he has cancer like Mum...
What are your thoughts?
Dad has had COPD for many years. Specialist said it could well be that causing the small abnormality on his lung... think I am just paranoid.

Re: 81 year old Dad having a lung CT scan I'm worried
There's no way to guess, but at least the abnormality is very small. If it is a cancer, it may be able to be surgically removed, and he may be fine. The smaller, the better, of course. Hope it is benign!
