Help! Lung Nodule Question!

Hello. I am a 28 year old female, non-smoker and I have been experiencing shortness of breath (on exertion) and chest pain for a few years now. I have done a ton of tests to try to figure out what is going on. Last year (June 2012) I had a chest CT scan and they found 2 nodules on my lungs, one on each lung, appx 3mm in size. I had an MRI done this July 2013 and the nodule on the left lung has grown from 3mm to 7mm. Should I be concerned????? I don't know if this growth rate is normal, any input would be appreciated.

Re: Help! Lung Nodule Question!

Hi NYGirl,
I understand your worries but what to give you few advices since I have same issue.
First of all you need to find a good pulmonologist who will watch your nodules. Since one of them grew, its better for him/her to give you professional advice since it can be nothing or it can be something. Nobody but your Dr looking at your scans can diagnose you with whatever this is.
I was diagnosed with nodules (some of them grew also) many years ago. Not only nodules, but fluid cysts and even cyst mass pretty big size but still it's nothing to worry about so far. Usually your DR tells you that if nodules don't grow during 2 years since they were found, they are not to worry about.

Best of luck to you
