Well, to recap I am photosensitive, have a + ana 1:320, joint pain, fatigue, butterfly rash when in the sun, morning stiffness, painful hands when exposed to cold-fingernails turn blue, and my Dr was giving me a 2nd round of tests. After me having to call the office everyday for a week to get the results, all he would tell me is that my "lupus test" came back negative (I'm assuming it was the anti dna?) and that I have an "extremely ugly case of rheumatoid arthritis". I was told to continue on with my naprosyn (sp?) because my insurance refused to cover the Celebrex and in cases of extreme pain I would be given a cortisone shot. When I asked the DR which antigens were causing the + ana, he said everything was negative except for the ana....wouldnt I have some kind of antigen that would show up in the bloodwork? Also, is Lupus genetic? My cousin has discoid lupus. I am just really confused here. I am contacting a Rheumatologist tomorrow--it just doesnt seem to me like this Dr knows what he is talking about.
