Question Little red blisters on fingers

Well, I am now officially diagnosed with overlapping autoimmune disease. RA, fibro and Lupus. I have a question about lupus flare up symptoms. I have pink eye, swollen gland on one side and then today little red bumps, that feel like a bee sting, have popped up on my fingers. I am going to be starting Imuran but now I have to wait until the swollen gland goes and the pink eye. However, what are the bumps?
I am afraid that now when something happens I will just blame it on a flare up.

You seem so in touch with all the effects of this disease that I am sure someone will know if this is related or not.

Thanks
Adela

Re: Little red blisters on fingers

Hi Adela,

I'm certainly no expert on these things. But your post reminded me of something that the dermatologist was discussing with me yesterday. I just went to get a mole removed, but I told her about my recent diagnosis of Reynaud's & Myositis. She then wanted to look over my hands saying Myositis or more correctly Dermamyositis can cause red lesions on the finger joints and knuckles and can actually get into the joint itself and destroy it. If the red bumps on your hand don't go away in a couple days I would see a dermatologist. Even if it isn't myositis or even Lupus related at least the derma will be able to tell you what it is and perhaps give you some med to clear it up.

Red blisters on finger tips and now on rest of fingers too

Thanks Angela for your answer. My finger tips have become really sensitive now and the rest of my fingers have broken out in different areas and I am going to call my Rheumy on Monday and also make an appointment to see a Dermatologist. My sister thinks that I may have touched poison oak in the yard, but I don't think that is it. I remember a few years back, my friend who suffers from RA was having a really bad flare and her whole body was covered in similar red blisters.

However, I will call the Doctor and will let you know as I think that anyone who has a similar problem might like to know what the result is.

Adela
