Here it is:

test: Lupus Anticoagulant Reflex

result: PTT-LA: 82.4h sec------limit: 0.0-52.0

result: PTT-LA Mix: 46.4 sec------limit: 0.0-52.0

It also says:
Mixing studies corrected which may indicate coagulation factor deficiency; due to the heterogeneity of Lupus Anticoagulants, normal results do not rule out all Lupus-like Anticoagulants.

test: Dilute Russell's Viper Venom

result: 49.2h sec---------limit: 0.0-45.0

DRVVT Mix: 1.0 ratio----limit: 0.0-1.0

I have no clue to what any of this means. If someone can help spell it out for me I would be very appreciative. Thank You.

Hi kixlon,

These tests indicate Antiphospholipid Syndrome. What are your symptoms? This is a very specific test for APS so I am very suspicious that this is probably what you have. Can you list your symptoms, past blood work abnormalities and other tests that have been positive (MRI's etc). Thanks a bunch! What is your doctor saying too?

The treatment for APS is to thin the blood out since it is "sticky". Often we are given Warfarin or Heparin (by injection) to keep the blood thin to prevent it from clotting. Have you had past clots? Stroke, DVT's (leg clots) etc? How about a history of miscarraige? Thanks and talk to you soon!

Hi Angelic! Thanks for posting.

My symptoms are:

slight depression
weight gain (I am dealing with hypothyroidism)
fatigue
aching left hip
aching ankles
sometimes my lower legs feel tight...the dr has felt my legs but I guess there were no blood clots. All of this is new to me so it is hard for me to know what procedures he should be doing to find out what is wrong with me.

I had my very first visit with a rheumatologists last week. He had blood work done (results will be here this week). He moved my legs and arms around and asked if any of it hurt. He alos asked me to touch my toes and that was about it. He is considered one of the best in the South Texas region so I assume he knows what he is doing. I will do some research on what you said it may be and be sure to bring this up to him.
