I was Dx with Idiopathic Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia the "Warm" type last Nov ...with my hgb at 4.2...and Platelets at 56K, Sed rate high , billirubin was at 2.1 My Hematologist said that I had IAHA but when in the hospital his associate who was doing his rounds came on the day 4 of my stay and came out and said that he thought I had Lupus...they didn't give me a do until the 5th day and then I was discharged. FANA came back as neg. The direct coombs was positive for the Warm antibodies ...and has stayed positive ...the last one I had was in January, I have another one on the 31st.
Here is the thing that I don't get understand, my hemoglobin has been very stable at around 12.5 with the prednisone I am currently on 10mg's every other day.. I got a virus about a month ago...had 2 cbc within 2 days and my platelets on the first were at 101 and on the second they had dropped to 58. I was to come back on that Monday for a follow up cbc, it had gone up to 103...I pretty much chalked it up to a virus as did my Hematologist, he wasn't to concerned Last Monday I went it to my Reg doctor office and had to see associate of hers...I have a hard time sleeping so needed something to help me sleep, he wasn't even going to do a cbc but after looking into my records he started getting intrested in my cased and wanted one for sure...after it came back my platelets were down to 89. He was asking me why they never give me a bone marrow biopsy in the hospital, I said I didn't know much about my diagnosis it until after I was out of the hospital? I also wondered why they tested no urine? Well he gets really upset and said he would refer me to the Mayo if I wanted him too. You need more test!!! Anyhow I have had a lot of the classic symptoms of Lupus for YEARS even as a child...so can anyone tell me what my hopital blood work looks back in November 2004...Thank you so much !!!!

I am taking :
10mg of prednisone eveyother day
1mg folic acid x3
10mg of ambien
500 mg?Calcium x2
150mg zyban x2
