Gastric distress is one side effect of plaquenil, when I took it I had that problem and had to give up milk and like dairy products. That did help. Some other side effects are eye problems, but that is rare and usually takes a long time to happen. My PDR says abdominal cramps, anemia, dizziness, diarrhea, eye problems, vision problems, mood changes, skin problems and muscle weakness. Thats kind of it in a nutshell, you know they give every side effect known to man. Hope this helps.
