| Re: peticheal rash/positive ANA=??
Hi, Kerry. Yes, this rash is common. At least a couple of other people on this board besides myself have spoken up about it. There is a discussion thread maybe a month or two ago where we talk about these tiny red dots under the skin that seem to pop up if you even blow on the skin hard (lol). Do a search for that thread. Seems to be a symptom of vasculitis in the blood vessels, though it shows up on the skin and makes you think it is a rash, but it really is not. it just shows through the skin. A bit off-topic, it does sometime seem that lupus has my skin constanly at war. On any given day, strange pimples, bright red whelps that look as if I have scratched myself badly (people ask: who scratched you up like that?), burning skin, and itchy elbows, knees, and ankles just about drive me batty. And any bruise you get seems to take forever to heal and leaves a dark shadow, where my skin didn't used to do that at all.
Having a lupus blip of some sort today. Ears inflammed and itching, anus itching, scalp itching, throat scratchy, skin all over just plain old itchy. This too shall pass. Perserverance.
