Eye Twitching?

OK...my eye has been twitching now off and again for a few weeks. I went on a prednisone taper last week and the twitch has been crazy! It twitches as little as every 12 seconds to every 30 seconds. It is the upper right eyelid. It is just bothersome. But on top of all the joint pain, etc., it is driving me over the edge!

I can't find anywhere that it is linked to prednisone and I am near the end of my taper and it hasn't lightened up. Is it a lupus thing?

Re: Eye Twitching?

Hi how are ya beside being annoyed. I am no medical guru, my twitching( muscle fisculation) can be a normal part of lupus, but it can also be a lack of calcium in your body. Look up muscle fisculation, and there are several causes for it, but none of them dangerous that pertain to the eye. Hope I helped, mine was a calcium deficiency, my calcium was being blocked by my meds.
