Re: update anti ro VJ
Dear Robin, I never had children (wrong med, for wrong disease, for most of my married years---Librax for GI problems---can't take during pregnancy).
I hope you do take your son to a pediatric rheumie, Robin. Hopefully, he'll get the help he needs to get turned around quickly. Having the right drs. evaluate him now could mean so much for him, and your other 3, too. My heart goes out, Robin. But, for sure, this seems like a lead that you must follow through on, wherever it leads.
I don't know if my own mother was ever tested for lupus. She did have "sticky blood", which I now would interpret as AntiphospholipidSyndrome & she was on Coumadin for many years. And I had recurrent serious illnesses when I was very young (pneumonia, encephalitis, etc.) but never was taken to a rheumie. My one sibling, my older sister, was pretty healthy until her 50's (Dx'ed then with asthma).
I'm sorry for all you've battled so far, Robin, but I'm very glad you have this strong lead for your son. Let us know how you all are faring, when you can, OK? All my very best, to you & your family! Vee (P.S. Glad you feel pretty solid yourself right now. I feel well in fall & winter, too---and love feeling like "myself" for months at a time. But if you need the Plaquenil later, don't hesitate, OK? I've got very lousy bones, not improved by years of untreated chronic inflammation...)
