Happy heart month to you all. Hope you are all well.
I haven't been on lately. Been very busy. Been a little sick. Been a little sad with a death in the family and mother-in-law having stroke #4. I'm tired.
However, I did read an article on the web a couple of days ago and wanted to pass it on in case no one else caught it. The article said an experimental procedure was performed on 44 Lupus patients some years back. The procedure took stem cells from each patient's blood. Their immune systems were then destroyed with radiation, as in bone marrow destroyed. Their own stem cells were then transplanted back and new bone marrow grown from the stem cells.
The test proved promising. 33 of the patients have been symptom free for more than 7 years. The article said that 6 of the patients died of things unrelated to the test or the lupus; car accidents maybe; didn't specify.
The experiment was only performed on patients who had no other treatment options, in other words were literally at deaths door from this disease.
Did anyone else catch that bit on info on the internet? Even if you didn't, it sounds promising to me for the future. I wish I could give you the site I found it on. It was in a health news aritcle on my home page this past Tues.
I saw the Today Show where they talked about the auction. Then I went and watched it. It was a thrill.
Again, hope you are all well. I will try to pop in and read more in the future. Out of time for today. Luv and hugs to you all
May God Bless and Keep Us All
