Sure wish my shoulders would numb alot. When left side went numb had head ache on left side of head face tingled to 1/2of lip can use hand leg but still don't feel right left side of face does droop alittle if i sleep on left side wake up with drool on face. Thanks for any and all input!
My neighbor upstairs had Bell's palsy a few years ago. One side of her face drooped badly (mouth, eye, etc.), she drooled, etc. She was about 80 at the time, really gorgeous & very lively. She woke up one morning like that, without any warning. But---here's the good news---in weeks she improved, and in several months, you'd never know anything had happened. That's the only time I've seen Bell's palsy firsthand.
I hope the CAT scan narrows down what is doing this to you & that it's something mild, transient, and not lupus-related. GOOD LUCK! Sincerely, Vee
I had Bell's Palsy years ago and as far as I know, it ONLY effects the facial nerves/muscles. It shouldn't cause paralysis or numbness elsewhere in the body. Please have this checked out ASAP!
Did you have a cold or sinus infection recently? B.P. can be precipitated by this and it was true in my case.
If you DO have Bell's Palsy, they say you should get on prednisone quickly to shorten the duration. I waited too long and had it for about 9 months. However, it typically resloves in a few weeks.
At first, I had a swelling and achiness behind my ear and an oddly numb tongue. Later I had moderate facial pain (but no headache), drooping on the effected side of my face with some drooling, and I couldn't close my eye. Dr. told me to wear an eye patch but vanity got the better of me and I didn't (was young and I already felt silly with my slanted smile). I wound up with cataracts so I say, follow Dr's advice with that.
I now have lupus and have had numbness in arm and fingers but it wasn't pronounced so I never had it checked.
Please let us know what the CT tells you and good luck!
No colds ect but just had one cataract taken out on left side and do have one on right not ready yet. but yes my numbness is all the way on left side, face does droop wouldn't notice from across room. Can close eye.So I don't think it is bells. Do have high ana but don't want lupus ms or any of it. Sure no one really wanted any of it either.would be nice to know what you have.So you could work on it.
