Anyone ever not been able to have their BP taken? - Lupus Message Board

Hi everyone - I need your help - I've been in a bad Lupus flare for awhile now and can't seem to get better - I keep battling infection after infection - most days I'm so exhausted that the simpliest tasks seem like mountains. The issue though that I'm wondering if anyone else has had is that we can no longer "hear" a blood pressure in my arms with a stethoscope.

I'm wondering what might cause this? Has this happened to anyone else? Are their diseases that could cause this to occur? Even on Prednisone my BP has previously has stayed under 120/80 unless I'm stressed so I'm not prone to high BP. I'm currently on 50mg of Prednisone per day.

Just for background I do also have Raynaud's - Livedo Reticularis - Arthritis along with SLE - Lupus.

Any insight anyone can give is appreciated. I've read this board with interest - everyone seems to kind & helpful. Thank you for your help.

Actually, this has happened to me. The doctor was simply baffled! He brought in a second machine, and then a third one, thinking they may have been broken, but the same thing happened over and over again. They ended up switching me to a different sized cuff and it worked fine. Next time try it and let me know if it works for you.
