Hi, everyone
I was dxd with SLE a few months ago (symptoms have been around forever, though). I have a questions about RA overlap in SLE. My RF test was considered negative at 31 (less than 43 was negative at my lab) at the time of dx with lupus; my ANA was +, as was my anti-SSA, and I had decreased C4, elevated CRP, etc. Recently I went back to my GP with really bad neck pain. My rheumatologist told me that the neck wasn't a lupus problem. Anyway, my GP xrayed my neck and the report said I had "significant disk space narrowing at C5-6." I'm on NSAIDS and have started physical therapy, but am still in such pain. I do take 1 vicodin at night, which was prescribed by the rheumy for times when things got too bad for the NSAIDS. I'm wondering how or when drs will look into an overlap dx of rheumatoid arthritis with lupus and for those of you have been dxd this way, what was your RF result? Just curious. I feel like I'm not sure which dr has authority over which part of my body.
Thanks in advance for your resonses,
Michelle in CA
