We haven't met before welcome to the lupus board. I am pleased things are getting a bit better for you on one level. Now to the your question about the medications.

I have been taking steroids - prednisone - daily for over 30 years and have never, ever had this problem. I have been using methotrexate for approx. 11 years, again no problems at all in any way.

Just a thought. My cousin has the same type of thing on her lower leg as you describe. Her doctor has told her it was because she had been using, on prescription, morphione patches for chronic pain caused by arthritis. Not using them on her legs though, onher arms. Now, obviously this is only a thought, so if you have been on any type of patches like this for pain, or indeed any other type of patches, it's worth checking.
