Has anyone had, or does anyone have this condition associated with SLE? I was recently "diagnosed" with the possibilty of SLE because of this condition, along with some irregular blood tests (high ANA and low C4 complement, for starters). A Rhematologist wants to put me on Planquenil but another Doc says there is not enough evidence to come to that conclusion yet. Other blood tests reveal no tissue or organ damage and the only other symptom I seem to have is fatigue. But the dermatographism has lasted 3 months and is not going away even after Prednisone.
So I am a little confused about everything but really I just want to know if anyone else had the dermatographism with lupus.
Was this your first sign of Lupus? As I said I don't have many other symptoms, but my blood tests do point to something autoimmune related, although nothing definitive.
I am just trying to figure out if the dermatographism is something that might be a stand-alone kind of thing or if it commonly occurs with lupus. Do the flare-ups happen a lot? How long do they last?
Looking back, I can't remember a time when I didn't have this, so I can't say for sure if this was my first symptom. This is just one symptom of an autoimmune disorder. If you're not having any other symptoms, I really wouldn't worry about it at this point.

Very curious. Thank you for sharing your stories. I am learning a lot. ( I think I also have ******itis) Hee Hee.
