Hello everyone I am on some other boards here & thought I would cut to the chase & do some investgating on my own. I find these boards are a wealth of knowledge so here it goes,
I have been having some problems for a couples years know, gone to so many doctors it is unreal, been told so many things,as for now the docs believe the problem is in the mucsles. Just recently I was told I may have to see a rhuem. specialist that I may very well have an auto immune desease, In my case it would seem lupus may be one of them, my aunt also has lupus, so I will list some of what I have gone through,
started with upper chest pain & pressure going into neck area, eventually down through shouler breast & ribs all left sided, I am constantly inflammed & the pain is unreal, so far no luck with any anti inflammatories, even steroids which did help last year. I first stared with breathing issues like I could not take a deep breath all the way in & at times it was painful. Since this past may I have not been pain free for one day, pt did not help the therapist could not figure out why the inflammation would not go down. I have major muscle spasms. I would get alot of numbness & tingling in my hand/fingers. Now the pain & numbness is going into the hip, leg & foot area, once again all left side. The chest & shoulder/rib(under breast) is the worst. It gets so inflammed it is unreal. No bra since may. At times some hot spots on the foot or thigh, been getting pains in my calves, & vision alittle blurred (had that on & off for awhile, worse since on Lryica), at this time the doc. believes the problem is in the muscles. Had cardiac workups, MRI, EMG, blood work for arthritis & so forth.
I am getting worse & the doctors are taking forever & not always agreeing. I am on alot of meds which I hate & tired of wondering what is wrong.
All the doctors agree that I am very inflammed & it is causing a huge amount of pain, sometimes it feels like I am having a heart attack, even had one doc. think I was. The chest gets so swollen. I live on Ice packs. I am getting alot of headaches latetly & used to get migraines for years they would last for a month at a time, so am afraid of getting them back. The last doc,(rehab doc.) said that the scapula area was all in knots & very inflammed, but no doc. has been able to get the inflammation down.
I honestly thought I hurt myself moving into a new home I couple years ago, then lifting alot at work. I don't know anymore & am getting concerned I am 42 & my husband recently started radiation for cancer, so I am getting alittle desperate to find out what is wrong, my work & family have suffered so much it is unreal. I am loosing range of motion in the left arm & shoulder & that worries me. I could go on & on but I thought maybe some of you could give me a clue, perhaps list some symptoms & or how it started for you. I am tired of waiting for the doctors to agree while I am suffering & just want my life back. I would greatly appreciate some input, more then I can say, like I said I have found these boards are a wealth of knowledge & perhaps it can help me in dealing with the doctors in the future. I have heard lupus is hard to diaganos & can take years. That scares me, this pain gets so bad & is getting worse. I cant even put my seatbelt on at times or lift my arm. So please let me hear from some of you. Sorry so long. Thanks Sammy
Hello sammy
you must be feelin very confused and lost, some times it helps just to get a diagnosis so at least you can begin to understand the disease! At present im diagnosed with rheumatoid aarthritis but am now being tested for lupus. the symptons that i know of are recurrent miscarriages, circulation problems, sizures, clots, there are more but im not sure of them all. i would definately seek advice/support from another health profesional.By reading other posts linked to lupus you will find lots of information.take care.

Hi Sammy, My pain is just the opposite of yours. I have pain on my right side, this includes my feet, ankle, calve, knee, thigh, right hip, right-sided chest pain, shortness of breath(most of the time), tingling and warmth all the time in my hands and my feet. My new symptoms are sensitivity to sunlight, I'm now somewhat anemic, and I have gastointestinal problems. My doctor thinks I lupus because I have very little inflammation in my limbs. But my lung is always inflammed. My vision is so blurred I can't read books with small print. I'm only on naproxen for now until he gets a definate diagnosis. Please know that your'e not alone, with this condition , we have good days and bad days. Remember to keep up with your range of motion execises, even when it seems they're not helping you. Also watch your diet because some foods will make your pain flare up even more. Keeping you in prayer, Kimmy
Sammy, look at the "sticky post" about test results (sticky posts are the permanent posts at the top of the thread list). In it, you'll find a link. Go there, then into Rheumatology, then into lupus. You'll find lots of lupus articles to peruse. I hope you keep posting. Hang in there. Sincerely, Vee
