| Re: How long to get results from blood tests?
I doubt there's a rule on turnaround time. Could you call your doctor's office & ask? Then, of course, dr. has to be in, have time to review results, etc.
Please don't be undone if you don't get conclusive results on the first big try. Many don't. Think of how the "4 of 11" ACR criteria are *supposed* to work. To be Dx'ed wityh SLE, you need to fulfill at least 4, but *over time*, not necessarily all at once. And for the ones that are "clinical", many drs. like to see those first-hand, as opposed to taking some earlier doctor's word.
On my last round of tests, it took a month to get everything together for bloodwork, urinalysis, and skin biopsies. The dermatopathologist retested multiple skin punches that were mailed to him from out-of-state labs; so the skin aspect accounted for most of the time, I suspect.
Just give a yell anytime if you need company as you wait, and we'll do what we can to provide same! Thinking of you, Vee
