Hi. I think Dr. Daniel Wallace, author of a repspected lupus hardcover, considers "high" ANA to be anything over 1:1280, or greater than 30 International Units. So you need to know *which measuring system* the lab used, titer vs. International Units. (FYI, try your local library or bookstore for this author & also for Dr. Robert Lahita. Both convey a wealth of info, which helps you think up good questions to ask your dr.)
Do you know which SPECIFIC autoantibody tests were run? And which were positive? I ask that because ANA is only a "threshhold test" that can be positive in multiple conditions. Elevation means *more specific tests* are likely needed to narrow things down.
QUESTION: Is your doctor a rheumatologist?
I hope you post more when you have time. Bye & best wishes, Vee
