Hi k2626,
The same thing happens to me, sometimes just my fingernails turn blue and other times it's also my hands and feet. It's called Raynaud's Phenomenon. I have lupus and the Raynaud's came afterwards so I have what is called Secondary Raynaud's. Alot of people with lupus do get secondary Raynaud's however you could have Raynaud's without lupus. I hope this was of some help! Just google Raynaud's and you can learn about it and see if you think that might be what's going on or ask your doctor. Good luck and Have a great day

Thanks so much. My finger does not turn blue but my nails get so so blue. I have such other odd things going on too like random nerve pains, extreme joint crakcing, random numbness/tingling and muscle twitching. Most recently my pancreas has become inflammed. However, drs have not diagnosed me even after TONS of labs, MRIs etc etc I am thinking its all connnected to some AI disease yet to show in my blood
I have MCTD/lupus, scleroderma, sjorgren, and raynauds syndrome, my fingers tips will turn blue then exposed to cold temps. Your symptoms sound like mctd. Hope you feel better real soon.
I'm not sure if your muscle numbness and tingling happens at the same time when your nails turn blue, but those feelings are always signs of Raynaud's if it's happening at the same time. My feet and ankles go complete numb and my arms tingle like they're asleep when my Raynaud's acts up.
Are you on any medicines like immunosuppressants? My liver became severely inflamed and they couldn't find the reason at first but it turned out since my immune system was suppressed I contracted an infection that went into my blood stream and infected my liver. Hopefully you'll get a diagnosis soon, I know how miserable the waiting can be
Also MCTD stands for Mixed Connective Tissue Disease which is an autoimmune disorder that mimics the signs and symptoms of three other autoimmune diseases - lupus, scleroderma, and polymyositis.
Hope this helps

Thanks so much. No I am not on meds, etc right now. My tingling does not hppen the same time my nails are blue.
Today I got a rash in my right thigh from when I was sitting in the sun (warm day). Just looked up the rash and it is livedo reticularis. My rash was JUST like that. I read this however could be caused from lupus, or pancreas issues...ugh .
