Does sea level living help with flares?
H ello everyone!

Have you every heard anything regarding living to high above sea level making the pain of lupus or other autoimmune dieses worse? I feel like when im at sea level my mussel and joint pain is less. But I live over a mile above sea level and seem to go into flares more. Maybe its just stress. Any thoughts???

Hi Derlinda
People with lupus generally have a better quality of life if they live in areas with the least change in barometric pressure. The less change in the pressure, the fewer the flares. I'm not sure if there is any correlation, but the two places in the US with the least changes in the barometric pressure, Hawaii and California, are both above sea level. In my opinion I don't think the sea level has much to do with flares, but I'm not a doctor! lol I hope this helps
