I have the autoimmune variety pack - SLE, RA, Sjogren's, Raynauds and recently added Fibro to the mix.
I'm pretty accustomed to bizarre symptoms of my autoimmune diseases - I usually "stump the doctors" with them.
For about 2 years, I've had skin peeling off in rather large pieces from the roof of my mouth. At first it was once in a blue moon, but the frequency has increased to 4-5x a week. (Hence I thought it could be related to one of the diseases) It's an annoyance more than anything - no pain involved.
I've tried avoiding hot/cold foods, brushed the roof of my mouth vigorously but no luck.
Anyone else had this experience or am I just a whacko?
I had the same peeling in the roof of my mouth also. I have Lupus, it began long before I was diagnosed or started taking drugs for Lupus. I gargled with peroxide diluted with water.I have not had the peeling for about a year now.
The doc gave me a mixture to gargle with that includes lidocaine and some other stuff. Seems to work well but gargling every day with this is going to require a lot on a monthly basis.
