Post Gout like pain

Hi again,
I read somewhere on the board about pain similar to gout and I had to respond. I have terrible pain in my toes. The pain is mostly in the joints where my toes meet my feet. It feels as if someone has literally dropped a bowling bowl across all of my toes at those joints. It comes and goes. It isn't constant but it seems to be getting worse.
Is this a common problem with autoimmune diseases?
Is this type of pain specific to a certain autoimmune disease?

Thanks so much!
Genny
