Post aching ribs

I was diagnosed with Lupus about six years ago. I had
most of the usual Long list of symptoms. I currently
have almost no symptoms. What I do have is aching of
the ribs that comes and goes. I was just wondering if
anyone else has this too. It's not a sharp pain or
anything to do with plurisy. It is hard to describe.
I can stand it during the day but at night when I am trying to sleep it feels like my ribs are aching
on the outside and are being pushed out from the
inside. Sounds weird uh. Nothing seems to help but
heat or somtimes ice. Just wondering if I'm the only
weird one??????????

Question

My first thought was pleurisy - as I've had it a couple of times... But if it's not a sharp pain, then you're probably correct that it's not pleurisy.

Is it worse when you wake up in the morning? Is it impacting your daily activity? Is it a dull constant pain or does it come and go? I'm sure you've racked your brain trying to figure out correlation to anything...maybe give your doc a call and see if they can offer suggestions?

It seems to be worse at night when I'm in bed. It's
enough to make it hard to get to sleep. Sometimes I
sleep in a recliner so there is not so much pressure
on my ribs. Sometimes it hurts in the evening before
I go to bed and then a heating pad seems to help or
sometimes an ice pack. The pain isn't too bad but very
anoying. I asked my Dr. about it a few years ago and
he said with Lupus any joint or connective tissue can
be affected and the ribs have connective tissue between
them. Sounds reasonable I guess but I've just never
heard of anyone else that had this symptom?
