I know that the RF test is for the Rhuematoid Factor. This can sometimes tell if you have rheumatory arthritis - but not always. Some people test positive and don't have it. I think it can also be positive in Lupus. I'm sure your doctor wants to test for any possible condidition relating to the joint pain in your hip. I'm not 100% sure of the other tests, but I wouldn't worry just yet.

Are you seeing a rheumatologist? Did your doctor give you anything for the pain? Don't lose hope yet. There are loads of treatments for everything these days!!

Banana,
Have you recently gotten the tests or have you gotten the results back yet?
I have a number of autoimmune disorders including Rhuematoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus (SLE)... I have a lot of problems with hip pain - it's "deep" down in the joint and hard to find relief. I take anti-inflamatory med like motrin and take a warm bath. My rheumy said cold was better - but it doesn't penetrate the joint. And I don't feel that much better afterwards but it soothes the soul at least.

I had a bone scan done of my hips a few months ago. I'm 32. The radiologist came back to see me afterwards because he said there was no way these were the hips of a 32 year old woman. My arthritis was that bad.

Keep us posted.
