anyone have acne like rashes on face caused by lupus?? - Lupus Message Board

I have had an acne type of outbreaks on my entire face since 5 years ago. could this be lupus? None of the acne meds have worked and I'm really depressed. i have even been put on accutane and although it helps some of the time, it does not clear me.....I have SLE with joint pain, fatigue, chest pains, costrochondritis, mitral valve prolapse, mouth sores, nose sores, and headaches and a general achy feeling. Low positive ana of 1:80 speckled.
Is this another symptom or am I crazy?
Also, I had a hysterectomy in 98 so I shouldn't have any hormones that would do all this acne stuff.

Are you on steroids? They might be the cause.

No I take only plaquenil and have had this problem since before I started taking it. I also have pain in the area of my chin and jaw and breakouts there consistantly. Mostly small fluid filled pimples. Do you think this could be lupus? My daily dose of accutane is 200mg.

I have been having small ache break outs. Never had this before. I had a hystorectomy this summer.
Have you tried the proactive? I saw it on tv, I think the have a web sight. I had to adjust the regament because my skin is so sensitive now. It has been great for my husbands ache, and my teenagers.
