Question organ failing?

hi, At the moment a paternal aunt of mine is going through a really hard time with her lupus. From what I have been told, and understand, her kidneys are failing quickly and her depression is out of control. She was hospitalized just recently. I know that there is a higher chance of having lupus if someone else in your family has it. Which is one of the reasons that my doctor felt it safe to diagnose me, even with my still realtively minor symptoms. However, do the symptoms also run in the family? As of yet, I haven't had any problems with my organs. But is there a higher chance because my Aunt does?

I wouldn't think that you would have serious organ
involvement just because you Aunt does. It's not just
Lupus that can run in families but auto-immune on the
whole. I have Lupus, my aunt has celiac's, a cousin
has Lupus, my mother has NH lymphoma and a thyroid
problem that is auto-immune related. So, you see
how auto-immune can run in a family but effect us
all differently.
